Brittany Porter

A proud native of Miami, Florida, Brittany A. Porter brings a dynamic perspective shaped by diverse communities and experiences to her role as Senior Associate at Homan, Stone & Rossi.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Porter served as General Counsel for a Southern California real estate brokerage conducting over $3 billion in annual transactions, as well as affiliated finance, and escrow entities. In that capacity, she oversaw hundreds of residential and commercial deals each year and managed high-stakes disputes. Her insights and leadership as General Counsel have been quoted in Inman News, including coverage of the national brokerage settlement strategies and industry risk exposure.

Beyond her in-house counsel experience, Ms. Porter has supported community-focused projects, including guiding organizations in the establishment of state-funded preschool centers across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties—merging her transactional skill set with her commitment to expanding educational access.

Her passion for advocacy began early. Prior to law school, Ms. Porter taught high school mathematics as part of Teach For America in Dallas, where she led the Algebra I department, and served as the drill team coach.

At Pepperdine University School of Law, Ms. Porter served as President of the Black Law Student Association, Vice President of the Latinx Law Students Association, and founder of “Open Conversation,” a forum for dialogue on pressing social justice issues. She also volunteered with Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles and completed a clerkship with Judge André Birotte Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Ms. Porter earned her J.D. from Pepperdine, where she also received a Certificate in Law and Entrepreneurship from the Geoffrey H. Palmer Center and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the renowned Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. In recognition of her academic performance, she was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Dispute Resolution. Ms. Porter holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Hampton University, where she completed a summer internship with the United States Congress, and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Outside of the office, Ms. Porter enjoys caring for her fur babies, cultivating her tropical fruit garden, and exploring the intersection of architecture, culture, and community design.
